OUR STORY (And we’re stickin’ to it!) Everything here is made fresh daily – that means NO pre-made anything (like some others, who pre-prepare then quickly micro-wave or re-bake crusts, pies, sandwiches, or appetizers ... not us!). It means that we use NO “bulk” pizza cheese and NO canned or "made elsewhere" sauces on our pizza either. We grind our own cheeses (it's our own special blend of cheeses), and make our own proprietary pizza sauce using 8 fresh spices (good enough to take home some extra -- ask us how!). We make our own dough EVERY DAY, and it’s more than just the highest quality hi-gluten flour, water, and yeast -- one taste will tell you that we also add some other secret ingredients to make the combination of our own crust, sauce, and cheese very memorable for you and your family. Here are some hints for ordering your perfect pie "Pizza perfection” is purely subjective PLEASE
Our Crust -- if you don’t particularly like crust around the edges or like your crust “crunchy,” order our thin crust. If you really, really like bread and crust (ours in particular), try our Dean's Breadstix while you wait; we make these to order from our daily-made pizza dough (meaning, it'll take 6-8 minutes as they are not pre-baked and kept warm, but made specifically for you).
Our Sauce -- If you like lots of sauce, order extra sauce (we typically apply it "artfully and lightly" so as not to smother the pie and the taste of other ingredients). This is more "traditional Italy."
Our Cheese – Our cheese blend is applied to compliment, not “own” our pies. So if you’re a Cheese-aholic, order extra cheese … or better (and for a tastier blast of cheeses), order our 6-Cheese Pie ... with cheese that we grind and blend on site every day!
Our Pepperoni – a signature item for The Pizza Palace and the #1 requested topping. Our special-order pepperoni bakes up into small, spicy, crispy little grease cups -- oh the decadence -- Bon Appetite!
Our Fresh Toppings – We apply toppings judiciously to create a superb balance of flavors & textures. Though generous by many standards, if you are a real "top-aholic," please ask your server for “double – whatever.”
We strive every day to give you our best, freshest interpretation of “perfection.” Though some prefer
New York "fold & eat" style pizza, others will swear by Chicago "knife & fork" pizza. Most who visit us, however, say that we've got a pretty darn good Mackinaw pie, too, and this is evidenced by our being voted by our customers as having “Best in the North” pizza year after year. We are also consistently rated as the #1 or #2 restaurant (of 18) in Mackinaw City on www.TripAdviser.com, an independent, on-line rating from travelers. Our thanks to you for that!
